Q19: When are you available?

ROB DAVIS, P.ENG.

Q19: When are you available?

The short answer is, I'm available two weeks after the receipt of a (written) offer.

The long answer is...

Mutually acceptable: The offer (and any other paperwork) should be mutually acceptable. Email me all of your documents first. Ensure the offer (and any other paperwork) is mutually acceptable 'before' it is signed, sealed and delivered it to me. Skip this step, and you will create additional delays in our process.

Put it in writing: The offer should be 'in writing'. Send me a written offer.

Overnight only originals: If you're out of town, then overnight to me one of your originals. Contracts, seals and signatures should be 'originals'. If you send me only faxes, or photocopies, you will create additional delays in our process.

Finalize it two weeks before: All negotiations and paperwork should be finalized two weeks BEFORE the start of this new employment. Postpone things till the last minute, and you will create additional delays in our process.

Before I quit my job: The paperwork should be overnighted 'before' I quit my job. Please don't delay sending my paperwork until after I've already quit my job and thus weakened my financial position. If you delay sending your paperwork, you will create additional delays in our process.
