Q: Interview question: What type of boss do you like to work for?
A:
Let's suppose you?re leaving your present position because you can?t stand your boss. She drives you
insane, makes your skin crawl, and shatters your nerves. She puts you down, and uses sarcasm on you.
Additionally, she has a snobbish, condescending attitude, and most of what she says sounds ridiculous.
She also lacks common sense, and according to her, nothing is her fault. What she makes you do on the job
is beyond any job description. She also listens to all your phone calls and screens everyone like it?s
the Spanish Inquisition.
Seconds have lapsed and now you need to answer. Your interviewer is waiting patiently with pen in hand.
What will you say? Or better yet, what is it that you don?t say? Have you ever been asked a question like
this? While everyone answers differently, you don?t want be regarded as a difficult employee. Even if
you're telling the truth, the problem is, if say something negative about your boss, your negativity
will work against you.
This is how you should respond: Question: "What type of boss do you like to work for?"
Answer: "I am adaptable and easy going, so I can work for any type of boss."
