Q: What are the four steps of the software development process?
A:
Step 1: Make a plan. Define what software you're going to develop, and what strategy, and methods you will
use. Base your plan on the assessment of your company's current situation. This step is performed
by the development team.
Step 2: Execute your plan. Create the necessary conditions. Perform the necessary training. Develop procedures.
Then develop the needed software according to these procedures. This step is performed by the development
team.
Step 3: Compare the results of the development with the objectives. This is where testing is needed. This is
where testers check progress in order to determine if the software meets the needs of end users and customers.
If it does not, the testers report the bugs to the development team so that can be fixed.
Step 4: Take appropriate corrective action. If your comparison reveals that the development is not being
performed according to the plan, or if the results are not what end users and customers anticipated,
take appropriate corrective action. This step is performed by the development team.
